April Lockhart

April Lockhart is a born on July 4 April, 1995. As a seventh-grade student she began taking piano and guitar lessons. This ignited her passion for songwriting. At the age of 12, she composed her first single called Different. The year she turned 14 was when she was devoted for a long period of time to making song lyrics and working on her musical skills. Soon after, April started to travel with her dad and to write songs at home in NY or LA. April started to include other subjects in the book, Take My Hand, for the people in her life who are struggling in the face of peer pressure, disability or even suicidal thoughts. Lockhart, a popular lifestyle blogger and working in partnerships with clean-cut beauty brands Ilia and YSL, has cultivated her own fan base. Her birth was without a left hand and that is an aspect of her identity, but it's hardly her whole story. Lockhart's Twitter profile does not ignore the fact that she is disabled however, it doesn't concentrate on the fact that she is disabled. What's the message? This is the message: We all have many identities, we're way more diverse than we think we are. Lockhart stated in a video interview that she doesn't wish to be defined by her physical disability. She does not want to become a disability advocate who only talks about that. There are many aspects to Lockhart. My everyday life isn't dependent on it. I live my normal day-to-day life and discover my own solutions to issues. It's a big aspect of my existence, therefore it's important to talk about the subject. Lockhart is a huge example to other women regarding self-acceptance. Lockhart admits to having been through a series of phases in her body, and felt insecure at times to wear clothing that displayed her arms. She now wears whatever she likes. She also posts pictures on social networks. Self-love for her was a long journey. That's true of everyone regardless of their insecurity. The people around you with, who know your personal story and who can look into your heart are the ones you should be relying on who can remind you of the things you're worrying about.
