She was born on March 29, 1985, in Roswell New Mexico. Gerina Michel Mendoza was her name at birth. Gerina Stevenson, the Mexican child of Rita Stevenson Stevenson and Alan Stevenson Stevenson is born in Mexico. Her heritage is Mexican-American as well as an American of the nationality. Gerina has always been very active in sports. Gerina first started golfing at fifteen years old. Gerina completed her high school education during her time at Goddard High School. At the age of 16, she was a winner in the state golf tournament of New Mexico. In addition, she was an athlete in volleyball who played at the national level. She joined the University of Texas, Texas in 2003. The year she was in her senior year, she was the winner of each tournament in which she took part in. While in her university career, she received the honor of being named Conference USA individual champion player for the season and Female UTEP Athlete of the Year.
